played in both the ABA and the NBA. Living up to his nickname, Ice went on to lead the NBA in scoring average three years in a row from 1978 to 1980. George Gervin was inducted to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1996; additionally, his #44 jersey has been retired by the Spurs and he was named as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History.
